Upstage Solar
Upstage's Solar family of enterprise LLMs, sold through a self-serve English developer console alongside the company's document-parsing and information-extraction APIs. Solar Pro 4 is positioned as an agentic model for tool calling, terminal tasks and long-document reasoning.

- Unusually cheap for an agentic model of this tier, with Solar Pro 4 at $0.30/M input, $0.06/M cached input and $1.20/M output, and Solar Pro 3 at $0.15/M input, $0.015/M cached input and $0.60/M output
- Embed 2 lands at $0.02/M tokens and File Search is currently free in beta. Signup is genuinely self-serve at console.upstage.ai with English-first docs and no sales call, and the same account covers Document Parse at $0.01 to $0.03 per page and Information Extract at $0.04 to $0.06 per page, which makes it a coherent document pipeline rather than a bare chat endpoint.
Cons
- Brand recognition and third-party tooling support lag the major labs, so you write more of the integration yourself. The model line churns quickly: Solar Pro 2 is already deprecated on external routes while still carrying a price on Upstage's own sheet, and the legacy Embed model is scheduled to end on 31 December 2026, so pinning a version has a shelf life. Volume relief arrives only as bonus credits on prepaid commitments of $100, $500 or $5,000 a month rather than genuinely lower rates, and every price excludes 10% VAT.

Verdict
The easiest of the Korean labs for an outside developer to actually use: real English self-serve signup, published prices well under Western equivalents, and a document-intelligence layer that turns it into a full pipeline. Best for document-heavy back-office automation where cost per page matters as much as cost per token.
